Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Harriet Cohen

Dearest Harriet
Why don't you arrange the Suite yourself - R.V.W. arranged by H.C. would look fine.
I am sending you the pfte & the string copies. It ought to mean chiefly scissors & paste - but I leave you a free hand.
Love from
RVW
1. The Charterhouse Suite, Catalogue of Works 1920/6, a suite of six pieces written for piano and arranged for string orchestra by James Brown. Harriet Cohen had written on 22 July (see VWL1067) suggesting VW should make an arrangement for piano and strings. She did do this herself - see Harriet Cohen, A bundle of music p.229.
