Dear Keith Falkner

I meant to have shown you the enclosed songs when I saw you at Belfast – but there was no time.1 They are for string 4tet but I have had a pfte arrangement made for rehearsal purposes.
It wd be very kind of you if you They are by an ex-pupil of mine Alex Burnard an Australian & I think there is something in them.2
It wd be very kind of you if you could find time to look at them and tell me what you think.
If you like I will send you the string 4tet score.

1.  VW had been in Belfast to conduct a concert of his works on 17 February 1933.  See footnote to VWL891.
2.  David Alexander Burnard, Australian composer, who studied with VW and Herbert Fryer at the Royal College of Music before completing his studies at the University of Adelaide in 1932. The work was Five Shakespeare Songs for Baritone & String Quartet dedicated to VW.
