2. Lemare’s note: “The concert referred to was a “LEMARE CONCERT” at the Mercury Theatre with the Brosa Quartet. They gave the 1st performance of the Maconchy 2nd quartet”. Elizabeth Maconchy had been a pupil of VW and a contemporary and friend of Lemare at the Royal College of Music.
