Letter from Adeline Vaughan Williams to Ralph Vaughan Williams

Letter No.:
Monday eve [6th September 1937]

Dear One

Boo1 & I had a lovely drive to Godalming.  She went to see the witch - I stayed in car with a book - & suffered the visit of a sweet girl from R.A.M. - staying with witch whose hero you are & she cdnt resist coming to inspect me!
Then after tea Boo went to see Josiah - She found him telephoning - Bruce Smith had just left him - said his heart was all right & he could leave tomorrow!  He had thought of the Wilson Harris - but when Boo suggested here he jumped at it!  said he had felt doubts at going so far so soon - So Boo fetches him tomorrow morning - I'm sure we shall be quite happy with him - It will be an escape for him - I think he was just getting upset from being kept a prisoner - very low blood pressure - not heart he told Boo today.

O I forgot!  Mrs Statham after tea - so thats over!1 Yesterday a goodbye visit from both MacClearys - so nice -

1.  Cordelia Curle.
2.  Wife of Heathcote Statham, organist of Norwich Cathedral?
