Monday [30th July 1934]

The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

Dear Diana

Lovely of you to write - Uncle R is dressed today - has got to his study on crutches. He is very happy to be out of bed - and I feel very happy about him - for he has an excellent Scotch nurse who is devoted & severe.
I couldn't write to you about your brother - I knew the pang & how for ever it changes the age for one.
Love

AMVW
