Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Sir Henry Wood

Letter No.: VWL1386

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

October 9 [?1938]

Dear Sir Henry

Many thanks for your kind letter1. It was indeed a privilege to be able to take a share in expressing the gratitude of all of us to you for what you have done for music.
That evening at the Albert Hall was a great occasion. We have to thank Lady Wood and yourself for entertaining us so splendidly after the concert.
I should like very much to be present at the recording when it takes place.
I do hope you are having a rest and a holiday now.
Yours very sincerely

R Vaughan Williams
