Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Gerald Finzi

Sunday [11th May 1941]

The White Gates

Dear Gerald

Your distressing news about poor Robin1 is most heart breaking - certainly the only thing for him is to get right away from associations.
I daresay you saw in the Times that Emmie (Mrs R.O.2) died last week - she had been ill for a long time & we expected it for some weeks.
I think R. O. will live on here.
Love from Adeline and myself to both of you
Yrs
