Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Fritz Hart
Letter No.:
VWL1575
Aug l4th [1941]
From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.
Dear Fritz
I was very glad to have news of you. We plug along here & are prepared for anything. My latest war work is to write music for a propaganda film.1 Writing in seconds to the stop watch is rather fun & composing & scoring extra bars during the rehearsal interval (5 minutes).
My love to Marvell
I cannot read your address, I print mine.
Yrs
