Letter from Adeline Vaughan Williams to Joy Finzi
The White Gates
Dear Joyce -
The box arrived this morning - the cowslips rather limp from protecting the honey jar but very very sweet - I hope to revive them. Ought you to have parted with such treasure as honey - your wonderful yellow honey. Indeed I’ll keep the jar. I hope we shan’t have to wait till January before you call for it!
R is meeting Gerald tomorrow. R had tried for an assignation yesterday but possibly never posted his letter.
I hope it may have been a sign of improvement that Robin Milford came to your concert.
Our Dorking musical doings are over - now - digging & sowing for R - and the prospect of 6 hens!
Love from both of us
