Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Fritz Hart

Letter No.:

My dear Fritz

I was very glad to hear from you again and to know that all goes well with you.  We’ve been hearing quite a lot of young American music here.  Barber1 and Roy Harris seem to me to come out best. Copland2 in spite of his wrong notes seems to have something there though I cannot always get at it.
My love to Marvel.
Yrs
