Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Elizabeth Maconchy

Dearest Betty

I should love to hear the record of your Symphony.
I think perhaps it is a little too hectic all the way through.  One wants some point of rest, but we will talk about that more when you come.
I think your suggestion for the new opening of the slow movement is good.
Good luck to your Sixth Quartet and bring it along when it is finished.

Love

Uncle Ralph
(R. Vaughan Williams).
