The White Gates,
Dorking,
SURREY.

22nd. June, 1950

Dear Mrs. Thomson,

Thank you very much for your letter and for the good wishes of your choir.
I enjoyed your photograph very much.
As regards the new tune for you to sing I fear that I have so many things to do which I have promised already that I must not venture on anything else, but I do feel that the ‘New Commonwealth’ exactly meets all your requirements.1
Yours sincerely,

R. Vaughan Williams

Mrs. Thomson,
84, Oakfield Road,
