Letter No.: VWL2082

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

[About 8th September 1950]

Dear Mr Foote

At Gloucester on Thursday I discovered a mistake (my own) in the tenor part of the Fantasia: page 12 stave 2 bar 2 Tenor 2nd beat G should be E.

Could you tell the librarian of the Royal Choral Society?1
Yrs sincerely

R. Vaughan Williams

1. VW had discovered the error the day after the first performance of his Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis at the Three Choirs Festival in Gloucester, and wished to ensure the parts to be used by the Royal Choral Society in the second performance (at a Promenade Concert on 15th September) were amended.
