I resigned from the L.C.C. advisory ctee in June on the question of the organ & I believe Dyson also resigned and for the same reason.1

1. There was strong disagreement about the nature of the organ to be provided in the Royal Festival Hall. VW was in favour of a traditionally English broad toned instrument, whereas others wanted an instrument which incorporated baroque elements - the latter faction won the day. The London County Council had an advisory committee for the South Bank Centre which included the Royal Festival Hall.
