Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Kenneth Wright

Letter No.: VWL2323

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

1st October, 1947.

Dear Mr. Wright,

I fear that I did not make myself clear in my letter: I did not ask to have my quartet1 performed. I have never in my life, so far as I can remember, made a request such as this and I hope I never shall. All I said was that if it was performed, I should wish the Menges Quartet to have the engagement.2
Yours sincerely,

R. Vaughan Williams.
