Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Katharine Thomson

Letter No.:
4th December, 1947.

The White Gates

Dear Mrs. Thomson,

Thank you very much for your letter.  I thought it a very excellently chosen programme.  I really must try and come down when you do the whole work - if you do. What I should like to do would be to come to a fairly early rehearsal and I might then be able to make some suggestions.1
Yours sincerely,

R. Vaughan Williams.

Mrs. Thomson,
84, Oakfield road,
Selly Park,

1.  Sir John in Love. VW eventually did go to Birmingham to hear rehearsals in 1949 and to a performance at Stratford in 1951.
