Letter from G.M. Trevelyan to Ralph Vaughan Williams

Letter No.:
Oct 11th 1952

23, West Road,

Dear VW

All England is rejoicing over your birthday and you may be sure I do too. We have both achieved very much what we were respectively dreaming of at Seatoller in 1895. (Maurice’s picture of the party is on my mantlepiece1). We have had fortunate lives in a very unfortunate age. We neither of us can move about much now, but if ever you find yourself in Cambridge do look me up.
Yours ever

G.M. Trevelyan

1. Presumably the picture on the titlepage of the Seatoller logbook, which was still in Ursula VW’s possession.
