Could you kindly send this letter by air mail to the American Composers Guild? I do not know their address.1 Could you also tell John Warrack that I have safely received the proofs of the cover etc of This Day,2 also the title page of Along the Field.3

Lyle Dowling, the OUP’s agent in America, had sent a telegram on 3rd May: ‘League of composers  strongly desires to give what is called here testimonial dinner on Vaughan Williams birthday Tuesday twelve October stop we strongly urge this stop all precautions would be taken to make everything easy for him’. VWL2818 appears to be the enclosed letter.
