1.  Sir Gilmour Jenkins, a senior civil servant, amateur musician and close friend of the VWs.  Rae Robertson and Ethel Bartlett, the pianists, had made a recording of the two-piano version of the Piano Concerto (Catalogue of Works 1931/3) which the VWs had promised but failed to obtain for Michael Kennedy while in the US the previous year - see VWL2885.
