Letter from Ursula Vaughan Williams to Mrs Ross Lee Finney

Letter No.:
22nd November 1958

Dear Mrs Finney

Please forgive the long delay in thanking you for your letter - because it was such a pleasure to us both to know you - & because Ralph was always hoping to hear more of your husband’s music - he much admired what he had heard.
Ralph wasn’t ill at all, but died as simply as he lived, without pain, or feeling of parting, and after a particularly [good] summer - full of new works and plans - a good and fortunate way for someone who was as alive as he was, all one could wish for someone loved.
I do hope you will be in England again before too long & that we may meet.
Yours very sincerely

Ursula Vaughan Williams
