Letter from Ursula Vaughan Williams to Michael and Eslyn Kennedy

Letter No.:
[14 August 1958]

Joy took us for a glorious trip round Dorset, Stonehenge remade en route - & Yarnbury. Then Shaftesbury & this glorious giant1 on his sunny hill, & over wild downs.  We ended up in a remote thatched pub in the quietest village I’ve ever met. Then down to the sea on the Chesil bank yesterday – a visit to Sylvia Townsend Warner & home in the rain via Sarum.  Here till Monday.  Thank you for HWN2 & the cutting.  All well & lots of love to you both from us both.

1.  The postcard depicts the giant at Cerne Abbas, Dorset.
2.  Michael Kennedy had sent the VWs an article he had found about H.W. Nevinson.
