Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Alan Frank (OUP)

Letter No.: VWL3477

From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.

April 2nd 1957.

Dear Alan,

I am sending your letter on to Frank Thistleton who is secretary of the R.V.W. Trust. I fear that we have momentarily exhausted our money: but I should like us to be able to help if we can.1
Yrs

1. Frank had asked if the RVW Trust might be able to help the ‘RMS’ [Rural Music Schools] which had recently lost its Arts Council grant. Thistleton confirmed by telephone (according to a file note) that there was nothing to spare in the RVW Trust but it might be possible to provide help from the Editha Knocker Fund.
