Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Maud Karpeles

Letter No.:
VWL3652
[ca 1940]

Dear Maud
(wartime economy paper!)
I think I didn't express myself properly last night - what I meant was if we are well it is our duty to keep well so as to remain useful members of society.
If we are not well it is our duty to use every means to get well again.
We will now sing hymn 234
"Show, we humbly please our course
"Preserve us from all prigs & bores"
Love from
RVW
