My dear Alan,
Who’s Who in Music doesn’t give the date of your birthday – so I’ll have to use guesswork & hope that today, tomrrow, and Monday will be good days for thinking celebrating thoughts of you.  I’ve been trying to re-arrange life so that I could be free to go to your concert – but alas, all my jig-saw plans have failed, & I must most regretfully refuse your very kind offer of tickets.  It sounds a lovey & most representative variety of your music, and I shall hope that its all going to be broadcast later on.
Meanwhile, love to you both; a happy birthday, and a triumphant concert are my wishes for you.
Ursula
