Dear Maud

I’m glad you liked most of it1 – I shall think seriously over Act IV – at present I like all the dance tunes except one – I want them to be a bit rough & grotesque – they are village boys playing at fairies – not real fairies.
I hope Lowestoft (?) goes well – give my love to all my friends there.
Yrs

1. Karpeles had written to VW about the first performance of his opera Sir John in Love which had taken place at the Royal College of Music on 21st March 1929. VW is referring to the dances which taken place in the final scene in Windsor Forest.
