Letter No.: VWL4196

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

July 29th, [1957]

My dear Joan,
I never saw that enchanting Staffordshire Group till after you had left.  I think its perfect, & the man is exactly like Ralph in a pastoral mood.  Thank you so much for such a delightful present.
Ralph has written to the Canon1 & asked for an annual report on his activities – I suppose 1 each, otherwise 1 to be circulated.
Martin’s P.C. came this morning.  Ralph says he will never be stampeded, so I hope all will be well.
We have both been vaccinated today, a great step towards America.
Love from us both,
Ursula.

1.  Canon Briggs.
