Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Frank Howes

Letter No.: VWL4462

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

Jan 3d [late 1930s]

Dear Frank
I am much distressed that my old friend Dr McCleary’s name has been misprinted in the Journal.1 I suppose there is nothing to be done about it – I am sending him one of my copies & neatly(!) altering it – but I fear he will spot it. By the way he was very unwilling to send me all the verses, but I assured him that the EFDSS2 was a scientific body & valued truth above everything.
Yrs
R Vaughan Williams
