Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Eva Hubback

Letter No.: VWL4629

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

Monday [30 May 1938]

Dear Mrs Hubback1
Many thanks for your kind invitation – but I have given up lecturing for so long that I have quite forgotten how to do so – and I should have nothing to say to your students that they did not know already. Do get a younger man – I think musical instruction in England is in danger of remaining in the hands of the old fogies.2
Yours sincerely
R Vaughan Williams
