Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to William McKie

Letter No.: VWL4687

The White Gates,
Dorking, Surrey.

19th November 1952.

Dear McKie
You were talking the other day about representing Australian composers in your programme, when I mentioned Stanley Bate. I think something by him might well be included. I think he has written some very good music and I think he has been rather hardly treated by the B.B.C. who seem to have taken a dislike to him, so if you include something by him, perhaps in your preliminary programme you would be doing, I think, some good music and also a kindness.
Yrs
R Vaughan Williams
