Dear Mr Dickinson
Thankyou & your choir very much for your present and for the good wishes which accompany it. I have been through the songs – they are a curious mixture of good and bad – I was intrigued by the guitar accompaniments which do not seem to fit!1
Yrs sincerely
R Vaughan Williams

1 Dickinson, choirmaster at St Jude’s church, Newcastle (see VWL4728) had sent a book of Spanish folksongs to VW for his birthday.
