Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Peter Montgomery
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.
Dear Peter
It was very nice to get a letter from you but I wish you had told me more about yourself.
I am writing to Mr Godfrey Brown1 to say that I hope to come but I don't altogether like his programme. If I do come it would be delightful if I could manage to see you all at Blessingbourne as well - Adeline thanks you very much for your suggestion about her - but I'm afraid it is out of the question.*3

*Yes it is! AMVW
1. Edward Godfrey Brown was Director of Music at BBC Northern Ireland.
2. Blessingbourne was the home of the Massingberd-Montgomery family, who were cousinsĀ of VW.
