Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Maud Karpeles
Letter No.:
VWL4872
[mid 1930s]
From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.
Dear Maud
The tune is a well known type - isn't it - but not too bad and "genuine".
I've written to Mrs Jenkins1 saying that I am surprized that such a very controversial question as the re-collection of tunes was not on the agenda & that I propose to bring the matter up on Oct 13th
YrsÂ
