Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Maud Karpeles

Letter No.:

From R. Vaughan Williams,

Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.

Dear Maud,
Thank you very much for the lovely handkerchief and the carol.
Now to business. You may remember that you wrote me a letter about Cecil Sharp and the old dancer, which I quoted in one of my letters lectures. The Cornell authorities now say that they must have your leave before they can print it. Would you mind writing to me to that effect? End of business.1

1. The making of music, comprising revised versions of five lectures given by VW at Cornell University in the USA in 1954, was published in 1955.
