Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Arthur Boosey

Letter No.:
Nov 14 [1940]

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,

Dear Mr. Boosey
Both Rawicz and Landauer were recommended by my Ctee for release.  Why one has been released and not the other I cannot imagine ...
It might be worth while for you to apply for Landauer's release on grounds of health by direct application to the Medical Officer at his camp.  I have already suggested this to Dr Aber so perhaps something has already been done about it - but my Ctee cannot appeal on other grounds than musical eminence.
Yours sincerely
R Vaughan Williams
