Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Hans Becker

I have much pleasure in recommending Miss Joan King for the post of violin teacher in your school. Miss King is a fine performer and plays in excellent style.
She has a great love of teaching and has had considerable experience in teaching young people, for which, I think, she is especially fitted.1
Ralph Vaughan Williams
1. Presumably Joan King was a pupil at the Royal College of Music. By 1927 she was advertising as a violin teacher in Kingston, Jamaica, describing herself as a pupil of Becker and recommended by VW and Holst.
