Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Diana Awdry

Letter No.:
Sunday [4th August 1935]

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,

Dear Diana

I loved having your letter - I wish I could have come to camp1 but I am trying all I know to get my Norwich Fest piece ready for the printer - it was due Aug 1st - and is only just ready now!2
As to plans - I have to be in Worcester on the evening of Aug 21st - have promised to stay the night with I.A.!3 - then I hope to catch the evening train on the 22nd.
But the morning of the 22nd will be free - any chance of an expedition then - I should love to spend the morning with you - & you shall tell me all about Pauntley.4
We all send our love - and are all v. well - I wish you had been here for our hay making.
All my love dear Diana

Uncle Ralph
