1. Imogen Holst was travelling n the continent with an Octavia scholarship from the Royal College of Music. Presumably VW had been seeing the Director of the College about extending the scholarship or something of the sort.
2. Fellow students Grace Williams, the composer, and Leslie Russell, later Music Adviser to the London County Council, also held travelling scholarships at this time.
