Letter No.: VWL943

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

May 12th [c1936?]

Dear Ord

This is to introduce you to Mr R.G. Barrow1, member of the faculty of music at Yale University U.S.A. and organist of one of the principal churches in New Haven (also between ourselves a likely candidate for Washington Cathedral) also a composer of talent. He is very anxious to hear your choral service which I tell him is the best I know.
It wd  be most kind of you if you wd give facilities to him & his mother to come to the chapel services.
Yours very sincerely

R. Vaughan Williams

1. Robert Barrow, who did indeed take up the post of organist and choirmaster at Washington Cathedral in due course. He had studied composition with VW.
