Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Diana Awdry

Letter No.: VWL1315

Eversleigh Court Hotel

[30th September 1934]

Dear Diana
How wonderful to get two letters from you – I wish you’d been there – it was great fun and I managed splendidly only I had difficulty climbing down the hen-ladder from my perch – and a friendly cellist rejoicing in the name of Nifosi had to give me a helping hand.1
Now my dear there is only one more thing I have to say – you ARE NOT to apologize for writing to me – you ought to know that I love having your letters.
So there!
my very best love
Uncle Ralph
