Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Stanford Robinson (BBC)

Letter No.: VWL1594

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

Dec 5 [1941]

Dear Stanford Robinson

I am sorry for my delay in writing to thank you & your colleagues for the P.K.1 Many of my friends have told me how much they enjoyed the performance
My only criticism is that the singers took it all a little too seriously – I suppose they thought that a Mus. Doc. could not possibly intend to write light music.
Yrs

R Vaughan Williams
