Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Alan Frank (OUP)

Letter No.: VWL2540

The White Gates,
Dorking.

15th January, 1948.

Dear Frank

(1). I enclose this letter from Army Kinema Corporation.  Will you please be so kind as to deal with it.  I have no objection.
(2). I have lately finished a “Partita” for double string orchestra, founded on my old double trio with a new last movement.  Now I hear that the B.B.C. Orchestra with all their strings think of doing it on March 20th.  The parts are now being copied, but I doubt if my Copyist can get them all done in time.  If I send one complete set to you, could you turn one of your copyists on to it?  At my expense, of course.
Yrs
