Letter No.: VWL2861

From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.

August 17 [1954]

Dear Frank1

                                          Tuba Concerto2

Only these 2 alterations are necessary to make the slow movement available for the cello – for Bassoon or Euphonium it is all right as it stands.3
RVW

P.S. I think the present scoring is too heavy for the cello or bassoon.

1. Music Editor in succession to Norman Peterkin (1947); Head of Music from 1954 until his retirement in 1975.
2. Catalogue of Works 1954/2.
