Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Michael Kennedy

Letter No.: VWL3110

From R. Vaughan Williams,

Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.

August 15th 1955.

My dear Michael,

Sometime ago I was asked to write an article about Sibelius for the RCM magazine.  (Some time before your invitation):   I had quite forgotten about it!  Now the demand for it has come and I am obliged to fulfill it.  I do not see how I can write two articles about Sibelius.  Do you think I might, with the leave of the RCM, reprint the enclosed?  Perhaps you will think it not solemn enough for the Daily Telegraph, in which case I must do it again…but perhaps I can use some of it?1
