Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Alan Frank (OUP)

Letter No.:
February 19th 1956.

From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.

Dear Frank,

I will answer your question about printing the symphony in a few days. Meanwhile I am writing to ask Roy1 what my opinion about it is.2

1. Roy Douglas.
2. Frank had written to VW on 17th February asking if it was safe to start engraving the full score of the Eighth Symphony (Catalogue of Works 1955/3) or did VW still wish to wait until after the first performance in case he wanted to make further revisions. The Symphony had received a run-though a few days previously on 13th February.
