[13th June 1957]

Not yet thank Heaven!1

This is a lovely place not explored yet – lots of odd music going on but not very interesting – the young woman at the advice bureau at the station was just back from London
Love to you both

Ralph

We have seen the fiercest mountains up on the eternal (& rather grubby) snows & all in the melting edges, masses of primulas & gentians, crocuses, buttercups, also Zell am Zee by moonlight.  We are having a fine time & Ralph’s German carries us through the most unlikely situations.
Love

1. Written above the postcard’s caption: “Die Festspielstadt Salzburg.” VW and UVW were on holiday in Austria.
