Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Alan Frank (OUP)

Letter No.: VWL4169

From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.

June 10th 1956.

Dear Frank,
I think these people at Ascot are quite mad: but if they want to do my opera without the music, let them.1 It reminds me of the director of the Paris Opera, who admired the libretto of the Flying Dutchman, but got someone else to write the music!
Yrs, RVW
