My Dear Dean
I’ve had several telephone conversations with the O.U. Press. Apparently they told your agents last week that the only copies of the wind parts were in use & not available – They are however trying to get the Trumpet & Drum parts from the B.B.C. (who want them Thursday) & copy before that day – I hope they will succeed.1
Yrs sincerely
R Vaughan Williams

1. This probably refers to VW’s Te Deum (Catalogue of Works 1928/1) which was performed in Liverpool Cathedral and broadcast at Easter 1935 (April 21st).  See Judith Blezzard, ‘Holst and Vaughan Williams manuscripts at Liverpool Cathedral’, Transactions of the Historic Society of Lancashire and Cheshire, vol.139 (1989), pp.161-187.
