Dear Miss Sharp

Many thanks for your letter.  Certainly close with Mr. Garnett and accept his offer of 15% and I will agree to pay you half of that sum.  As you suggest I enclose a formal letter to that effect.
I do not want a regular agreement if you don’t.  I fear it will be some time before I get on to the opera again as I have so many neglected jobs to do and I may feel it difficult to take it up again – But having once made a start I feel happy about it and if you will have patience with me I feel sure we shall bring it to a successful issue one day.1
Yours very sincerely

R Vaughan Williams
