[June, 1939]

My Dear

As regards Wed., I think I would like to take the White Gates party up to the op:1again on Wed: if they want to – so we had better not make any arrangement (except possibly a last minute one).
We gave up the motor expedition to Wales & I go timidly by train this afternoon.2  I shall probably arrive back at Euston at 5.30 A.M. on Friday! If you have any change of plans let me know (till Thursday evening) at

I am writing a tune for the Pipers Guild4 – which shows what a pure state of mind I must be in!
