Dear Dent

(a) I enclose a cheque for your “Steuart” fund1
(b) Wd you be so v. kind as to give some advice to a pupil of mine2 – may he come to see you – He has just won the ‘Octavia’ scholarship for a year’s study abroad – & your advice wd be v. valuable – especially with regard to Italy – it seems to me the best teaching now is going on in Italy – at all events the Italian composers seem to know their job extraordinarily well.
Yours sincerely

R. Vaughan Williams
